Shanklin Sandown Rowing club travelled to Southampton last weekend for Itchen Junior regatta and secured nine victories, a club record for a single regatta. Ethan Walters & Riley Horrix continued their successful season by winning both the J14 & J15 double sculls, with Ethan also claiming the J14 single sculls race with Riley second. Rachael Debenham also secured three wins in the J14 double with Scarlett Phelan, the J15 double with Mia Phelan and as part J15 quad with the Phelan sisters and Yasmin Wright. Kayleigh Batchelor won the girls J13 single and double titles, the latter giving Scarlett Phelan her third win of the day. Lottie Tapsell completed the club’s remarkable day by winning the J15 single sculls from club mate Yasmin Wright.
